In Depth

Every suede jacket is cut individually by our master craftsman Franco, who grew up working on leather by hand and brings over 50 years of experience to the cutting table. Since each hide takes the dye differently, Franco’s trained eye first carefully selects each piece and maps the pattern accordingly to ensure all of the elements of the jacket seamlessly match in color. Suede is cut with a single blade rather than scissors, requiring a unique touch and precise technique that took Franco decades to develop. As he cuts, he intuitively adapts his blade to the varying thickness of the skins. Franco’s ability also reduces waste, ingeniously utilizing imperfect sections of the skin that a digital machine would render useless.

Origin

Each piece of outerwear we make is cut, sewn, and finished individually at our workshop in the region of Campania, Italy. Unlike most industrialized outerwear operations, we work on a unique single unit production model made possible by our small but diverse team of leather cutters, tailors, pattern makers, dress makers, hand sewers, and ironing specialists—a unique band of people that could only come together in a region that is widely considered the epicenter of craft in Europe.
